Need help getting started?  We have the experience to help you choose the right design, fabric and project.  Are you a beginner and want to learn how to quilt?  You’ve come to the right place. TWO-FABRIC BARGELLO

Two Fabric BargelloDate: 1 Session – Thursday, January 4
Time: 10:15 am – 4:15 pm (with lunch break)
Description: With only two fabrics, you can create this spectacular quilt full of depth and dimension. Separate pattern includes your choice of three distinct designs and sizes – a swirl, a checkmark or a lightning bolt (pictured with extra borders). An easy project for any skill level.

Deb Hunter’s SPLIT RECT(angle) Tool

Split Rect ToolDate: 1 Session – Saturday, January 6
Time: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Description: Finally a tool for dealing with pieced rectangles that is easy to use and accurate. The Split Rects ruler gives you all you need to make perfect units every time:  Charts for the starting strips, guide lines for cutting the elongated triangles, an angled edge for easy cutting, and a trim down section that enables each pieced unit to be quickly and exactly trimmed to the desired size with perfect placement of the angled seam. Another great tool from Studio 180 that is exactly right for your next quilt! Pattern provides for sizes from Runner to Queen.

MODERN DRESDEN – 4 FABULOUS FINISHES

Modern DresdenDate: 2 Sessions – Tuesdays, January 30 & February 13
Time: 10:30 am – 1:30 pm
Description: Dare to be bold and edgy! A modern update for making a variety of Dresden plate designs using a single template. The class will cover 4 different variations of edge finishes. Size variations are endless. You will learn to sew the plates by machine and mix and match your edge finishes if desired. Designed to be a technique class letting you determine how many plates, what sizes and finishes and layout you desire. Intermediate skill. * Template required.

ONE BLOCK WONDER

One Block WonderDate: 2 Sessions – Tuesdays, January 30 & February 13
Time: 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Description: You will love this unusual method of designing and creating quilts. In the One Block Wonder quilt, one piece of fabric does all the work because the fabric contains all the colors and design elements. You cut and sew one shape — with triangles forming hexagons –and then designing with these kaleidoscopic blocks. Each quilt is your own unique masterpiece when completed.

Laura Heine CollageDate: 1 All-Day Session – Thursday, February 8 (and one 30-minute preparation session by appointment)

Description: Learn how to use this special “collage” technique with wonderfully large-scale fabrics to create your one-of-a-kind collage quilt. Laura Heine’s patterns put a new, modern spin on “watercolor” quilts with her beautiful “collage” creations from her Fiberworks patterns.

Description: Whether this is your first free motion class or your tenth, Kristin will work with you to take you to the next level in achieving beautiful results on your home sewing machine. Learn how to quilt all-over, as filler, on borders, and on individual blocks . . . using loops and swirls, flames, flowers and vines.

Advanced Techniques with Deb Hunter’s RAPID FIRE LEMOYNE STAR

Advanced Lemoyne StarDate: 1 Session – Wednesday, March 7
Time: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Description: Your Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star tool’s versatility is really enhanced with this technique for the Blazing Lemoyne Star! The Blazing Star is similar to the Lone Star but has just 4 diamonds in each star point. It’s a fantastic variation, and its 10 sizes range from 6” to 24”, the larger one is just perfect for a wall hanging or medallion in the center of a quilt. The block units are strip pieced, assembled without using any “Y” seams, pieced so that the blocks themselves are slightly over sized so at the end each can be trimmed to an exact size. A truly addicting ruler and process.

Description: Love Tuffets? This 18” square one will be a great addition to your home . . . and it’s quicker and easier! The pattern uses the Creative Grids Triangle Ruler (supplied in class) to simplify the process. While you’ll want this gem for yourself, too, these squffets make wonderful gifts for weddings, new babies, anniversaries and birthdays. After you make your first one, you’ll want to make more!
